Everyone is familiar with the old saying...
"if Mama ain't happy, no body's happy!"
Which is so true. As a mother of six, life could get a little crazy. The kids all joke about how they would have to take turns to brush my hair at night just to relax me. (has something to do with the release of calming chemicals as the hair is combed)
Anyway, it worked - kept me from losing my cool and biting someones head off.
Well they have all but two grown up and I am hard pressed to find anyone that I can talk into doing this little job any more...so
Even though these little tips I am about to share with you are not as good as a hair brushing, they work pretty darn close.
(Note: always check with medical professionals before using any techniques. You are responsible for your own choices and your own health)
FOOT SOAK: Wow after a long day, our feet can get pretty sore. Take a dish tub and fill half way full with nice warm water (be careful not to burn yourself) Pour into the water about 1/4 cup of Epson Salt and 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar. Now let your little footies soak.
This is sooo good to help the body release toxins.(Important: do not soak longer that 20 mins. and stop even sooner if you feel that you are through. The body starts to re-absorb the toxins in the water)
Tennis ball pressure points: I have used these when I start to get a headache, have sinus pressure, that feeling of "coming down" with something. I lay down and put the tennis balls right behind my head at the base of the scull where the neck and scull meet. The weight of my head applies pressure as it rests against the balls. I like it to lay right up against the two bony structures at the base of the scull. I find that for me, it opens up the flow of energy running up and down my spine. (If you have any neck or spine injuries, you might seek advice) My sinus will eventually clear and if I have a headache it has help to relieve it.(I also use a warm washcloth on my forehead) Everyone is different...what works for me may not work for you.
DIY.....Below I have complied some pictures to demonstrate how I make these items. Feel free to share, but you must attach my information (Name, website & blog address) with it.
To make the neck pressure kit - take two tennis balls, sock and ribbon.
This one I tied at both ends; however, you can tie just one end, or not tie it at all.
Place both balls into the sock. If you choose to tie both ends do not push the first ball all the way to the toe. The second ball will be pushed right up next to the first ball. Twist both ends and tie with ribbons.
If you choose to tie only one end - push ball all the way to the toe of the sock. Second ball is pushed right up next to it. Twist the end and tie it off.
This pack is filled with rice and made out of cotton. You can vary the size to your liking. We choose a 6 X 5 Divide in half, long ways giving you a 6 by 2 1/2 . Sew up the sides. Next sew the 3 seams to create the 4 divided areas. Now fill with rice. (Some have used flax seeds, corn, etc) You can add dried herbs to create an aroma if desired. Now fold the top ends in and sew the top closed.
Take another sock, matching or complimentary and fill it with the rice pouch.
AND HERE IT IS - Your HAPPY MAMA stress buster kit. What you see below is the tennis ball pressure points, the rice sack, and a matching covered journal for writing away your worry and concerns.
